CMS and MPTS are in the process of planning for the 2nd semester (beginning January 2021) for all students in grades K-12. This takes into account both in-person vs. virtual learning, as well as the transportation needs of students. All parents will be asked to complete 2 different surveys per student enrolled in CMS.

1. This survey address in-person learning vs. virtual learning in Full Remote Academy preference and will provide us (MPTS) with specific information regarding daily numbers, etc.
2. This survey addresses transportation. This information will be used to help inform bus routes and stops for the second semester for all students in CMS.

​**Both surveys are due by 5:00pm on Monday, November 30, 2020. Please note that the decision indicated on these forms is permanent and in-place for your student/family through May of 2021. CMS has made it clear that we are not able to change this at the school level past November 30th. Any family who does not fill out the survey by the deadline will be defaulted to their current choice of in-person vs. virtual and will NOT be eligible for CMS transportation. 

Regardless of choice for semester 2, we do not anticipate classroom teacher reassignment for your student.

If you are currently in-person and you are electing to stay in-person for the second semester, please note that your student's A or B Group rotation will not change.

If you have any questions regarding transportation or in-person vs. virtual learning, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher or MPTS administration. As a parent in today’s world, I understand that this is an enormous task to complete for your student(s), specifically in advance. Thank you in advance for making this decision in a serious and timely manner. We are happy to answer any questions that you may have. ​

Magnet Process:

• MPTS 5th grade students will be automatically placed at either Quail Hollow MS or Eastway MS based on your address. 
• If you want to attend another magnet school, you MUST participate in the lottery process.
• If you want to attend your home school, you will register with that school.

You will need to apply to the Magnet Lottery during these date:
1st Round Lottery: November 30- December 13
