Miscellaneous Information

US Chess Federation
The US Chess Federation (US Chess) is the official governing body and not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization for chess players and chess supporters in the United States. Their mission is to empower people through chess one move at a time. Their vision is to enrich the lives of all persons and communities through increasing the play, study, and appreciation of the game of chess. All students wanting to play in RATED tournaments must REGISTER for membership.
Charlotte Chess Center & Scholastic Academy (CCCSA)
While CCCSA  is NOT associated with instructional Chess at MPTS, many MPTS students looking for a more competitive edge to the game have participated as a member. The organization serves as an extracurricular place where members of all ages and skill levels can congregate and enjoy the royal game of chess. They also sells basic chess supplies and has an open library of over 700 books. The CCCSA serves as an educational hub for chess in the Charlotte area; offering camps, classes and lectures year round.
